From the moment we entered the store, Bounds Flooring felt right. Jeremy, our salesperson, listened to our needs, made a suggestion which was exactly what we were looking for, told us that even with the busy IU back to school rush, that he would try to fit our installation within our timeline. He called two days later, the installers showed up the next morning, did a very professional job and the new carpet looks and feels great. From start to finish, I can’t think of anything Jeremy or Bounds Flooring could have done better. Very happy with the final result and a fair price too.

Bounds carpet installers (Kevin and Brevin) just left our house after installing new basement carpet and carpet on the basement stairs. Everything looks great and Kevin and Brevin were really good — on time, friendly, good communicators, years of experience, able to move some heavy furniture pieces, and took pride in their work. We may be getting more carpet installed upstairs in the future and we won’t hesitate to use Bounds again and would hope to get Kevin and Brevin as installers.

After an extensive search and countless hours researching hardwood flooring options, we ultimately chose Bounds Flooring, and the experience exceeded every expectation we had. From the very beginning, Jeff and Jeremy provided some of the most professional, knowledgeable, and patient customer service I have ever encountered in any industry. I came into the process with a tremendous number of questions and a very detailed approach to selecting the right hardwood floor for our home. I went back and forth repeatedly between a traditional site-finished 3/4-inch by 3 1/4-inch raw white oak floor and a factory-finished option. Jeff and Jeremy never once pressured us or rushed the decision. Instead, they spent an unbelievable amount of time educating us on the pros and cons of each system, carefully answering every question I could think of, and guiding us through the technical considerations of durability, appearance, finish quality, moisture stability, and long-term maintenance. Their patience throughout the decision-making process was honestly remarkable. They bent over backwards for us, sending sample after sample home so we could evaluate the flooring under different lighting conditions and alongside our furniture and trim colors. No matter how many times I returned with another question or wanted to compare another sample, they treated us with professionalism and enthusiasm every single time. We eventually selected a Somerset white oak floor with a gunstock stain and satin finish, and we could not be happier with the result. The floor is absolutely gorgeous. What impressed me even more was Jeremy’s understanding of proper hardwood acclimation and moisture control. After delivery, he graciously allowed me additional time before installation so I could bring the home’s humidity conditions fully within specification for hardwood flooring. During that week, I went all-in on preparing the home correctly. I encapsulated the crawl space with a 20-mil reinforced vapor barrier, installed a groundwater sump pump system, and added a 120-pint-per-day crawl space dehumidifier. As a result, I was able to stabilize the relative humidity in the home squarely between 35% and 55%, exactly where it needed to be for a successful hardwood installation. During that acclimation period, the moisture content of the hardwood rose from approximately 5% at delivery to 7% on install day, while the subfloor dropped from 9% to 7%. That brought everything well within the critical 4% moisture differential requirement necessary to prevent future expansion issues like buckling or contraction problems such as gapping. That level of professionalism and willingness to do things the right way instead of simply rushing through the job speaks volumes about Bounds Flooring. Then came the installation crew — and this is where the rubber meets the road .The installation experience was truly exceptional. Butch and Caleb are true craftsmen in every sense of the word. Their attention to detail was absolutely outstanding. Watching them work was like watching master tradesmen who genuinely care about perfection. They arrived prepared for every possible scenario and had specialized tools for situations I didn’t even know existed. At one point, they even custom-fabricated a ratcheting stretcher overnight to properly fit a difficult board tight against the wall. they brought in a special door jamb saw with a diamond blade and HEPA vac to undercut the morter bed on the brick hearth for the fireplace. That kind of ingenuity and willingness to go the extra mile is incredibly rare today. Every cut, transition, seam, and board layout was handled with precision and care. You truly could not ask for a better group of people to work with anywhere. From sales and product guidance to moisture management expertise and world-class installation craftsmanship, Bounds Flooring delivered excellence from start to finish. I was looking for a rug alternative as my needs required customized dimensions. They walked through options and listened to my wants. They were friendly, patient, an extremely helpful. We decided on a carpet remnant, cut to my size, with bound edging. The results were amazing! The staff and owner are all very welcoming. The whole experience was positive, start to finish. If I have any future flooring needs, they will be my one and only choice in Bloomington.

From the first day that I just went in to browse carpet and get educated on the process (it’s been 24 years since I had last had a need to purchase any new carpet) to the installation day, everything was so smooth. Jeremy was very helpful in explaining how everything worked. The estimator was friendly and professional when he came out to measure for a quote. The installer team arrived at the beginning of the time window I was given, completed their job swiftly, cleaned up and were gone in the amount of time that it would have taken me to just think about pulling up the old carpet. This company definitely left a great impression on me and when I am ready to do the next room, I will most certainly be reaching out to them again.
